Dr. Amanda Smith is a classically trained musician from DeLand, Florida, whose devotion to music serves as both a lifelong passion and a source of healing. She began studying piano at age eight and flute at age nine before transitioning to oboe during her sophomore year of high school at the recommendation of her music director. An accomplished multi-instrumentalist, she later taught herself clarinet, saxophone, and bassoon.

At age seventeen, Amanda joined the 39th Army Band, where she served her country honorably as a versatile woodwind doubler and pianist for the Stage Band. Today, she serves as Principal Oboe of the Volusia Community Arts Symphony Orchestra and the Volusia Community Arts Wind Ensemble, and performs saxophone with the Volusia Community Arts Jazz Ensemble.

Amanda appeared at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall on February 20, 2025, performing Hummel's Introduction, Theme, and Variations, Op. 102, for oboe with the New York Chamber Players Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Giacomo Franci.

In addition to her musical accomplishments, Dr. Smith has achieved remarkable academic success, earning a Doctorate in Healthcare Administration with distinction, a Master's degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, graduating summa cum laude. A proud U.S. Army veteran, she exemplifies dedication, discipline, and a lifelong commitment to service in both her professional and artistic endeavors.
