Kate Lee, age 12, began studying piano at the age of four under the guidance of Dr. Anna Ouspenskaya and Frane Rusinovic, and studies music theory with Fedor Ouspensky. Kate has already distinguished herself in numerous national and international competitions. She recently received an Honorable Mention and the iClassical Academy Excellence Award from the Global Sound Espressivo Competition, and won First Place in the American Fine Arts Festival Concerto Competition (2022). She was also awarded Honorable Mention in the 2022 William Knabe International Piano Competition, and First Place in the 2020 Forte International Music Competition & Festival.


Kate has performed multiple times at Carnegie Hall, including both Weill Recital Hall and Zankel Hall, as a Judges’ Distinction Award winner of the American Protégé International Concerto Competition and as First Place winner of the American Protégé International Competition of Romantic Music. She has also been recognized by competitions such as the Glory International Music Competition, YMIC Metropolitan Music Festival, and the Great Composers Competition series. Most recently, she returned to Weill Recital Hall as First Place winner of the American Protégé International Piano & Strings Competition (June 2022).
